The first question with flats in Andheri is which side of the railway you want. The line divides this large western Mumbai suburb into Andheri East and Andheri West, and each side has its own character. The domestic airport is here, along with several business districts. The film and television industry also has a big footprint in the suburb, which keeps it among the busiest parts of the city.

Busy suburbs bring trade-offs. Noise and congestion are part of daily life, particularly near the station and the main roads. Building age also varies widely, so for resale or older stock, check the structural condition and the society's finances. For a new project, verify the registration on the MahaRERA portal and compare the carpet area in the agreement with what the brochure shows. Ask for the full cost sheet, covering parking, stamp duty, registration and society charges. If you are choosing between the two sides, ask which one the project is on and walk the approach road at night.
