About Bangalore

Where in Bangalore should you buy, and what kind of home? The answer depends less on the city as a whole than on the corridor where you work. Bangalore is a high plateau city, about 900 metres up, with the gentlest weather of any big Indian metro, and its population has roughly doubled since 2000. Most of that growth followed the software parks outward, so housing spread along a few long…

About Doddaballapur

Doddaballapur is a taluk headquarters town in Bangalore Rural district, about 40 km north of central Bangalore. It falls in North Bangalore, and the town and its surrounding villages share the 561203 pincode. Doddaballapur has a long tradition of silk and handloom weaving and an industrial area of its own.

Roads and rail

Doddaballapura Highway (SH-9) links the town to Rajanukunte, Yelahanka and the rest of Bangalore, and carries on north towards Hindupur. The Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) is being built around the city's outer towns and passes Doddaballapur. Doddaballapur railway station is on the Yelahanka to Hindupur line.

Nearby areas

Rajanukunte and Yelahanka are to the south on the same highway, and Devanahalli and the airport are to the east. Hesaraghatta and Dobbaspet are to the south-west and west.

Employment hubs

The KIADB industrial area on the outskirts of the town houses garment and engineering units. The planned Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) near the airport is a short drive away, and the tech parks of Hebbal and Thanisandra are reached along the highway.

Property market

Doddaballapur is mainly a plotted market, with gated layouts by branded developers on the highway and around the town. Land prices are well below those in Yelahanka and Hebbal, which makes the area a common choice for buyers who want a larger plot to build on.
