If you are searching the southern edge of Bangalore for a newer apartment, Talaghattapura is one of the names that comes up. It is filed in the South zone of the city, alongside Gottigere, Subramanyapura and JP Nagar 6th Phase. Buyers usually look here for a new home in the south without paying the prices of the established neighbourhoods closer in.

For getting around, test the actual journeys you will make. Drive to your office at peak hour, find the nearest bus stops and see how long it takes to reach a metro station by road. Travel times in south Bangalore change a great deal between morning and midday, so one visit is not enough to judge.

Weigh the trade-offs of buying in a growing locality. Services such as schools, hospitals and shops may still be spread thin, so check what is open today rather than what is promised. If you buy an allotted unit in a sold-out project, confirm with the developer that the transfer is allowed and what fee it charges. Ask for the RERA registration, the builder-buyer agreement and a payment record from the seller. Check how the project will get its water, since newer southern areas often rely on borewells or tankers. Look at the approach road too, and how it copes with heavy rain.
