For many people working in Hinjawadi, the search for flats in Wakad is the first step. The suburb lies in west Pune, close to the Hinjawadi IT parks and the Mumbai highway. It filled in fast as those parks grew, and it is now one of the main places their staff choose to live. Shops and services are dense, and the Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal area begins next door.

The location is what you pay for. Hinjawadi is close, which can cut a long daily drive down to a short one. The Mumbai highway is also nearby, useful if you travel to Mumbai often. Retail and daily needs are easy to reach within the suburb. Even so, the roads into the IT parks are busy at peak hours, so test the trip to your own office first.

The trade-off is density. Wakad is crowded, and new towers keep adding residents to the same roads. Ask which direction your flat faces and what may be built beside it later. Check the occupancy certificate, the approved plan and the title documents. Confirm how water is supplied and what maintenance costs each month. For any project still selling new units, verify its registration on the MahaRERA portal. With a completed home, also ask whether the society has been formed and who manages the common areas today.
