Properties in RV Road

If you want the settled south of the city, with Basavanagudi and Jayanagar as neighbours, RV Road is worth a look. It takes its name from the engineering college along it and belongs to the South zone of Bangalore. This is one of the oldest parts of the city, so buyers come for the established streets rather than for new land.

Housing here comes through redevelopment, because nothing is left to build on fresh. The project on our listings is Prestige Botanique by Prestige Group, a completed building on 0.6 acres. It offers three-bedroom apartments, with possession from March 2022 onwards and prices listed from about Rs. 2.51 Crore. Plots are scarce, so the price reflects the location more than the size of the home. It tends to suit people who already know south Bangalore and want a newer building without moving to the outskirts.

Getting around is the strongest argument for this road. The Green Line metro runs underneath it, which links you to the rest of the network without relying on the traffic above. Basavanagudi and Jayanagar are next door for shops, services and schools that have been part of this area for generations. For many buyers, that walkable daily routine is worth more than a larger flat further out.

The trade-offs are those of any old, built-up neighbourhood. You get a small building, so shared amenities are limited and maintenance is split among fewer owners. Supply is thin, and you may wait for the right unit to come up for resale. On a redeveloped site, check the title history, the occupancy certificate and whether parking was provided as approved. Visit at busy hours to see how the streets handle traffic around the metro stations. If you buy resale, ask for the sale deed, the khata and recent tax receipts, and have a lawyer confirm there are no pending dues.
