Properties in Thurahalli

If green cover matters as much as the commute, Thurahalli stands out in south Bangalore. The locality takes its name from the forest next to it, a rare stretch of trees in a part of the city with little open land. It is in the South zone, near Uttarahalli and the Kanakapura Road corridor, and it filled in later than JP Nagar or Banashankari.

Because development came late, the area still has some room, though it is no longer empty. On our listings the project here is Brigade Omega by Brigade Group, a completed apartment development on 6.5 acres. It offers two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, with possession from December 2017. The listing shows it as sold out, so buying here today means a resale flat from an existing owner. That can suit you if you want to move in now rather than wait for construction. A mature complex also lets you see how the building has aged and how the association is run.

For getting around, the Green Line metro runs close by, which helps with trips into the centre. Kanakapura Road and the other southern arterials carry most road traffic, and Uttarahalli is next door for everyday needs. Check the drive to your workplace at peak hour, since southern roads can be slow.

Weigh a few trade-offs. Living beside a forest is pleasant, but check how close any home is to the tree line and whether the edges are well kept. For a resale flat, ask for the sale deed, the khata, recent tax receipts and the occupancy certificate, and have a lawyer review them. Ask the association about maintenance charges, the sinking fund and any repairs due in an older complex. Confirm how the building gets its water and what it costs each month. Look at the approach road in the rain, since low stretches can flood.
