About CV Raman Nagar

If you want to be in east Bangalore without the crowding of Indiranagar or the distance of Whitefield, CV Raman Nagar falls neatly between the two. The neighbourhood, named after the physicist C V Raman, grew around defence research campuses and the ITI complex. Much of the ground around it is still held by institutions. Buyers looking for apartments in CV Raman Nagar are usually after that mix of a central-east address and a calmer street life. We list it in the East zone.

That institutional land limits how much housing can be built, so new projects are few and tend to be well placed. The two we list are both complete. Prestige Rapperswil, on about one acre and handed over in March 2020, offers 3 BHK homes with a maid's room from about Rs. 2.65 Crore. Purva 270 by Puravankara, a larger development of about 10.35 acres completed in August 2017, has 2 and 3 BHK flats and is listed as sold out, so any supply there will be resale. The price level puts CV Raman Nagar at the upper end of the east Bangalore market.

The Purple Line metro runs close by, which gives you a rail link across the city without living on a main commercial road. Indiranagar and Old Airport Road are neighbours, so shopping, dining and offices along those stretches are within easy reach. Check which station is nearest to the building you like and how you would get there on foot or by feeder.

The main trade-off is choice. With little new land coming up, you will often be comparing resale flats of different ages rather than choosing between fresh launches. For an older flat, confirm the occupancy certificate, the khata and the association's dues, and look at the condition of lifts, pipes and parking. Ask how the building gets its water, and whether it relies on tankers in summer.

For comparison, look at Indiranagar, Old Airport Road, KR Puram and Mahadevapura, which spread across the same eastern side of the city.
