If you want to walk or take a short ride to one of the office parks on the Outer Ring Road, Doddanekkundi puts you about as close as east Bangalore allows. The locality lies between Marathahalli and the ORR, with a lake at its heart and technology campuses on several sides. It began as a village and was drawn into the city as the tech belt grew around it. We list it in the East zone of our Bangalore pages.

Housing here is built around that office demand, and apartments are the main form. The project we list is Bren Avalon by Bren Corporation, a completed development of about 4.7 acres that was finished in December 2014 and handed over from January 2015. It offers 2 and 3 BHK flats. No current price is listed, so any purchase there is likely to be a resale deal, and you should compare asking prices with recent sales in the same building. The Outer Ring Road is the main route in and out, running in both directions to the rest of the eastern and southern tech corridors. Marathahalli is next door for shopping and services. The nearness of the office parks is what supports rental demand, which matters if you are buying to let. The ORR also brings heavy peak-hour traffic, so time the drive to anywhere beyond the immediate campuses.

The trade-offs are traffic and age. An older building may need more upkeep, so look at the condition of lifts, pumps and waterproofing, and ask the association for recent maintenance accounts. Confirm the occupancy certificate, the khata and that there are no pending dues on the flat. Ask how water is supplied and whether the building relies on tankers in dry months, and check how the lake area has been handled in heavy rain.
